Help Now AZ is Ready to Grow, But They Need Us to Make it Happen

At SimplifyIT A-Z, we believe in giving back to the community we live and work in. That’s why we’re honored to support Help Now AZ, an organization doing life-changing work for at-risk, displaced, and homeless children right here in the Phoenix metro area.

Help Now AZ is launching a bold and exciting fundraising campaign to build a new facility. This building will be a permanent, centrally located space where they can expand their services and serve even more families in need; however, this building won’t happen without our help. This is our chance to come together as a community and be part of something bigger.

More Than Just a Building, It’s a Beacon of Hope

The new facility is more than a structure; it’s a promise. A promise that no child in our community goes hungry. That no parent feels alone. That no teen is left without a path forward.

For over 13 years, Help Now AZ has been a lifeline to thousands of children and families, providing emergency assistance, life skills training, youth empowerment programs, mentorship, food through their HELPsnackz Program, and so much more.

Their current 4,000 sq. ft. rental space simply can’t keep up with the demand. It’s too small, too far north, and it’s putting a cap on their impact. That’s why they’re raising funds to build a new, centrally located campus near 35th Avenue and Camelback. It will be a space designed to meet the real needs of real families.

What the New Space Will Offer

Picture this: classrooms buzzing with energy as teens learn job readiness and soft skills. Families gather for dinner on “Family Night” in a multipurpose room that feels like home. Community partners offering financial literacy and trade scholarship programs. Teens are discovering new paths, maybe in the trades, the military, or college, that they never thought were possible.

This new building will include:

• Life Skills Classrooms: Financial literacy, job readiness, cooking, parenting, and more for students and parents.
• Scholarships for the trades: Helping students and young adults pursue careers in plumbing, HVAC, welding, cosmetology, and other skilled fields through partnerships and direct scholarship support.
• Youth Empowerment Spaces: Designed to build confidence, leadership, and self-worth in teens.
• On-Site Resource Navigation: One-on-one guidance on housing, legal aid, transportation, and stability resources.
• Collaborative Nonprofit Services: Office space for community partners offering mental health, job placement, and benefit assistance.
• Volunteer & Assembly Zones: Hosting corporate team builds, HELPsnackz packing, and donation drives with ease.
• Health & Wellness Rooms: Private spaces for community medical, dental, and counseling services.
• Gathering Areas: Classrooms and multipurpose rooms for group learning, support groups, and community meals.

The HELPsnackz program delivers over 25,000 bags of food to children each month. These bags of food include a handwritten note reminding kids that someone cares. This program will be able to expand with a larger facility.

The Stories That Make It Real

Dawn Marie, the founder of Help Now AZ, knows what it’s like to grow up homeless. From ages 5 to 15, she lived in cars, parks, and even with strangers. She changed schools four to six times a year and often felt lost. She also found strength and eventually built a path forward, one she now shares with others through Help Now AZ.

There are countless stories of how this organization changes lives:

• A grandmother raising three grandchildren after her daughter passed away. Help Now AZ stepped in to get the teenage grandson a job, guide him toward a better future, and support the entire family.
• A family who lost their mother just before the holidays. When Help Now AZ delivered Christmas gifts, the daughter said, “It felt like they were from my mom.”
• An 8-year-old boy receiving a HELPsnackz bag at school told his mom, “They really care.”

These aren’t just feel-good moments; they’re life-changing interventions. The new building will allow Help Now AZ to do this kind of work at scale.

How You Can Help

This campaign is launching now, and we need everyone in our network to step up.

There are three main ways you can help and get involved:

1. Join the Founder’s Circle

This is the highest level of support with a $50,000 minimum donation from businesses or individuals who want to leave a lasting legacy. Founder’s Circle members will be recognized with naming rights in the new building and VIP treatment at Help Now’s annual gala. If you are looking to make a real, tangible impact, this is it.

2. Sponsor or Attend the Gala

Mark your calendars for September 27 at The Camby. Help Now AZ’s largest fundraising event of the year will go all-in on supporting the new building. Sponsorships start at just $2,000, and all proceeds go directly to the campaign. Auction items, ticket sales, and corporate tables are all welcome!

3. Donate Monthly for Just $30/Month

Help Now AZ is looking for 300 new monthly donors to give $30/month to support 300 new kids through the Help Snackz Program this school year. This is a great way to make a consistent difference that truly adds up.

Another Option: Volunteer Your Talents

Do you have skills in marketing, fundraising, social media, or mentorship? Help Now AZ is looking for people to join committees, share their talents, and help grow the mission. If you want to roll up your sleeves and get involved, there’s a place for you.
